17 Most Exciting New TV Shows You Need To Watch This Fall

Because we aren't all watching enough TV already.

We€™ve been living in this so-called €˜Golden Age€™ of TV for some time now, but the shine shows no signs of wearing off anytime soon. The big-hitters have already delivered this some great new programmes this year, with Netflix/Marvel€™s Daredevil, AMC€™s Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul, and Sky Atlantic's Fortitude proving to be fairly big hits, while there€™s also been the continuation of a couple of little shows called Mad Men and Game Of Thrones. Even summer is increasingly getting in on the action. Whereas once considered something of a dead-zone for TV shows, networks are now adding more big shows to their lineup in June and July, because why go outside when you can stay in and watch TV, and it€™s probably raining anyway. Fear The Walking Dead, Orange Is The New Black S3, Sense8, True Detective S2 are just some of the shows set to air during the warmer months. All carry a fair amount of expectation, and to see them in summer shows how much the times, and the seasons, are a-changin€™. It€™s all a prelude, though, to €˜fall€™ season (autumn for UK readers). This is the biggest time in television, the September/October period when the networks bring out their big, full-length series shows that will run until somewhere between March and May. This is where established and sure-fire hits such as The Walking Dead and The Big Bang Theory will air, and now is the time when all of the networks are currently unveiling their fall schedules, and which new shows have been picked up for a full season. There€™s always one or two high-profile casualties early on - for example, last year€™s failed How I Met Your Dad pilot - while many more will be brutally cancelled midway through their run, if they don€™t gain the required audience figures. With so many shows competing, it really is survival of the fittest. Here, then, is a look at some of the most exciting new shows set to arrive this fall (in the US at least), one€™s that will hopefully live up to their early promise and manage to stay the distance.
