The most disturbing moments in an already disturbing show.

It's safe to say that Black Mirror isn't the nicest of shows. Since it debuted in 2011, the show has been spitting out episodes that provoked reactions ranging from "wow, that's dark," to "I feel physically ill and I need to lie down."

But looking back on the show's nineteen episodes, it's hard to pinpoint which moments, exactly, are the hardest to watch. Which moments are the most likely to stick in your head for the rest of your life? Which moments will re-emerge into your thoughts one night years in the future, and keep you laying in bed for hours, parsing through all the little implications and horrifying details?

There's a lot to pick from, but these are the ones that surpassed all expectations and went horribly dark, even by Black Mirror's standards/

5. Cooper Loses His Memory

Playtest is best known for its twist ending, which is completely understandable, but the most unbearable moment in this episode is the scene where Cooper develops a sudden case of Alzheimer's.

He can't remember who he is, where he is, and he can't even recognize himself in the mirror. Before he wakes up, he's reduced to a tiny shell of his former self. It's a scene that would horrify anyone, but to people who've had friends or family members diagnosed with Alzheimer's in the past, it hits a little too close to home.

What makes it worse: unlike the majority of Black Mirror characters who get screwed over in the end, Cooper doesn't actually do anything wrong. Okay, so he probably should've called his mother, but he was still a genuinely good person who ended up dying in his worst nightmare.
