8 Great TV Shows Unfairly Cancelled In 2014

And another one bites the dust.

Towards the end of every television season, the tension in the air is nearly palpable as loyal fans take a deep breath and prepare for the inevitable barrage of cancellations. Many might sigh in relief as their favourites emerge unscathed, others might cringe as they watch their show move to the Friday night death slot. Any cancellation is reason for sorrow, but no announcement is as heartbreaking as the one you never saw coming. For many shows, the surprise and outrage of thousands of fans begs the question: Where did it all go wrong? Unfortunately, premature cancellation is a theme all too rampant in today's television industry. Remember the good old days of 10 season runs and satisfying finales? While those two don't necessarily always go hand in hand, it was still comforting to know that your favourite show would be around for quite some time. Perhaps it's no surprise that such a large number of programs are getting the axe; after all, there are only so many hours in a day, and monetary gain certainly doesn't play second fiddle to the pursuit of decent television. Still, preventing shows from reaching their potential is a cause, not a symptom, and we can't help but blame the ruthless act of cancellation for the current state of the entertainment industry. The 2014 television cleanup was as brutal as any year, if not more so. Here is a list of 8 TV shows that we believe deserved a second chance.
