Game of Thrones fans are a tough bunch, they have patience, passion and devastation when the life (and death) of their favourite character lies in the hands of one notoriously slow author. In the run up to season five they were handed the shocking news this week from George RR Martin himself when he dropped a huge bombshell about the upcoming story lines completely out of the blue. He told the Writers Guild West Awards that fans had better be on their toes and that people are going to die who dont die in the books, so even the book readers will be unhappy. The shock of this news gained many different reactions. Avid book readers were left devastated that they had toiled through his novel series A Song of Ice and Fire, all 1,770,000 words of it, in order to be the first to know what will happen in Westeros, only to be told their knowledge was invaluable from this point forward. The cliffhanger junkies were on the edge of their seats wondering who might be next up for what could literally be the chop. Those who have their favourites became anxious and paranoid their favourite Stark or Baratheon may finally meet their maker. No matter what side anyone is on in the debate about whether the plot should change from the books, the show will never be without true die-hard fans...
