American Horror Story's apocalypse-themed season continued to pick up the pace this week, delivering its best instalment yet.

The third episode - entitled Forbidden Fruit - primarily focuses on Wilhemina Venable's desire to make it to the Sanctuary, as well as Michael Langdon's true intentions for those who are lucky enough to live. We also learn quite a bit about Miss Miriam Mead (and exactly what she is) after last week's episode suggested that she was a robot. Much of the episode also centred around Mallory - a character that we know very little about (or at least that was the case before Forbidden Fruit). Some spook-tacular AHS characters from days gone also make a surprising return, which opens up new story possibilities for the show.

All in all, it was another stunning episode of the horror anthology series - and definitely the best of the Apocalypse season so far. The shocking ending suggests that the hits are going to keep on coming, so let's hope that Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk can maintain the standard, because if this is the case then we're in for a real treat.
