Ash vs. Evil Dead returns for its second season October 2 on StarZ, and it looks like there is a lot for fans of the series to look forward to in its sophomore season. Year one introduced us to an older (but no less dimwitted) Ash, Pablo, Kelly, and Ruby, who just happened to be a Dark One. Not to mention author of the flesh bound Book of the Dead known as the Necronomicon.

Season two picks up right where season one left off - with Ash having made a deal to retire happily in Florida. Then it ramps up almost immediately, bringing us more new characters, more crazy carnage, and more back story, building from the ground work laid in season one - and the Evil Dead film series that came before. Among those new characters and backstory? Some family ties, Ash's best friend, and a return to his childhood home town, which you can rest assured will not be a happy homecoming.

One of the most exciting, fun, over the top shows on television, Ash vs. Evil Dead has thus far been the perfect way to cap off the Evil Dead franchise - so lets take a look at ten things fans have to look forward to in its second season. Groovy!

10. A Short Lived Retirement

One of the most memorable moments of Ash vs. Evil Dead's first season came in the opening sequence of the show. In it, we met an older, but not wiser Ash hitting on a fellow bar patron while claiming he had lost his hand rescuing a young boy from an oncoming train. It was, obviously, a ruse to get laid, and it worked. It also set the tone for the series.

In season two, Ash's "retirement" (due to a deal he cut with the demonic Ruby) in Jacksonville, Florida has similar potential. From the trailers out so far, Ash has become the life of the party. The local young folk love him, probably because he cuts into kegs of beer with his chainsaw.

The idea of Ash as the "cool old guy" (like that one uncle nearly everyone has) at the party works pretty well, and offers a heck of a setup, because clearly, before long, Deadites will come knocking, and everything will go to pot.

Until then, this scenario actually holds a lot of promise. Especially since Kelly and Pablo will be there as comedic foils.
