Cursed focuses on the journey of Nimue (Katherine Langford), a mysterious young woman who will eventually be better known as the Lady of the Lake.

And while Cursed isn't an Earth-shattering reinvention of the wheel, it is a slick, well-acted, and largely entertaining reworking of Arthurian legend, headed up by a thoroughly game Katherine Langford in the lead role.

There are issues, several of them relatively predictable ones, and while it might not quite become the streaming giant's new viral phenomenon, it should fill the void for those feeling bereft of quality fantasy fare in recent months.

It's clear that a few nips and tucks need to be made for a smoother season two, but more often than not, Cursed finds the right blend of old-school thrills with just enough of a new-school twist. It's not high-art, but it's solid comfort food for sure...
