The CWs Arrow proved to be so successful that it spawned a spin-off show in the shape of The Flash. So successful have both of these shows now become, that another spin-off has landed in the form of DCs Legends of Tomorrow. Soon, it will no doubt spin off several times, and it will all become impossible to follow. Focusing on Rip Hunter assembling a team of Legends The Atom, White Canary, Firestorm, Hawkgirl, Hawkman, Captain Cold and Heat Wave the job at hand is to stop time-travelling uber-rogue Vandal Savage from taking over the whole planet. Anticipation has been high ahead of Legends of Tomorrows debut, and the show didnt disappoint with its debut episode. While having to cover some predictable beats introducing the characters, looking at their decision on whether to assist Hunter in his crusade, etc the premiere outing was a breath of fresh air in how much fun it was. Make no mistake about it, this was a TV show that was more than happy to play on its comic book origins, unashamedly going over the top at times and bringing in concepts that could seem a little far-fetched to boring, logical sorts. In amongst the time-travelling action were plenty of WTF moments as DCs Legends of Tomorrow made a hugely promising start, and heres the best of those shocking, surprising, slightly random or outright cool moments.
15. Ruthless
Weve seen Vandal Savage at work during the Arrow/Flash crossover from the end of last year, and so effective was he there that he essentially vaporized an entire city before The Flash travelled back in time to undo Savages handiwork. Starting things off again here, Savage is once more introduced as a thoroughly nasty b*stard. And what says nasty more than killing a defenceless mother and child? Seeing Savage kill the woman was harsh enough, but quizzing the young boy before offing him was a massive shocker that set the standard for just how horrible and merciless Legends of Tomorrows big bad can be.
