DC's Legends of Tomorrow isn't renowned for playing it safe, so it's hardly surprising that its latest season has revolved around the arrival of magical creatures. Shapeshifters, octopuses, unicorns - you name it, and the writers probably used it.

It goes without saying that the introduction of these creatures made for a ton of fun adventures as the Arrowverse's team of misfits travelled through time to send as many of the evil arrivals back to Hell as they possibly could, but it also played a significant role in the season's overarching narrative. Joining the so-called monsters was Neron: a demon that once crossed paths with John Constantine, and sought to use these creatures to spread panic and fear.

This saga played out over the season, slowly building towards the finale, during which all hell literally broke loose as the demon attempted to complete the final phase of his plan.

'Hey, World!' was quite the spectacle to behold, and the only thing more groundbreaking than Neron's portal to hell was the number of shocks that it left us with - some of which could change the Arrowverse as we know it.
