Doctor Who: 5 Things To Look Forward To In 'The Time Of The Doctor'

By Louie Norton /

"Christmas is a happy time", said no Whovian ever and this Christmas will be no different. The Time of the Doctor is fast approaching and it will soon be time to say goodbye to the latest incarnation of the Doctor. But what is there to look forward to? Personally, I am not a massive fan of the Christmas episodes of Doctor Who. I like the odd few episodes (such as 'The Christmas Invasion','The Runaway Bride', 'The End of Time' and 'The Snowmen') but I find the rest of the episodes fairly pointless and don't enjoy them. For me, they seem to lack a decent plot line, caring too much that the story somehow links to Christmas rather than how it links to Doctor Who. But I feel this episode is one to look forward to. Why I hear you ask? Here's why...

5. Cast And Crew

I am one of those people that likes Steven Moffat as much as I do RTD, they're both such great showrunners and I would struggle to choose my favourite! But what I look forward to in 'The Time of the Doctor' is the writing and the acting. Jenna Coleman has said in an interview that during Matt Smith's final scenes as the Doctor, she cried. It's been said that this episode has some of the best of Moffat's writing and the finest of Matt's acting. Moffat has made me cry more than anyone in the TV business. In so many episodes of his, there have been such lovely speeches or a beautiful scenes within his run of the show. I just know 'The Time of the Doctor' will be know different. It's going to contain some of Moffat's best writing that will tear up all Whovians the moment the Doctor begins to say goodbye. And oh Matt Smith. Such a wonderful actor. He pulls at everyone's heartstrings the moment his mouth opens. Smith's acting in this episode is bound to be his best. If not, I'll eat my words...
