Elizabeth Hurley to Play Evil Villain in WONDER WOMAN Pilot, Lesbian Scenes Abound

By Paul Tamburro /

The unfathomably beautiful Elizabeth Hurley has today revealed, via twitter, that she will be appearing in the upcoming NBC TV Pilot of the new Wonder Woman series. Hurley, who has set acting aside in recent years in order to design and promote her swimwear range, seemed elated by the news of her first on screen role in seven years. Well, as elated as one can possibly appear on twitter, without resorting to an abundance of obnoxious exclamation marks and misplaced capital letters. According to the tweet, Hurley shall be "playing the evil villain", which judging by the original casting call shall be the beautiful-but-bitter Veronica Cale. The character's bio sheds a little more light on the DC Super-heroine's nemesis, including a rather interesting tit-bit of information that will no doubt help to heighten the interests of a few of you fella's out there;
Female, open ethnicity, late 30s to early 40s. Beautiful, highly-educated, highly accomplished, she runs one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country...but she's afflicted with the serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy. Whatever she is, or will be in life...she'll never be her. And it causes her innards to rot. She loves men, but likes women. There might be an unstated chemistry between her and Wonder Woman, at least on her side.
This potentially means that Hurley will be involved in a romantic subplot with the heroine, portrayed in the pilot by Friday Night Lights alumni Adrianne Palicki. I know what you're thinking; "Phwoar, Liz Urlee's gonna 'ave it off with tha' fit American bird, I'll be Sky Plussin' tha'", and for the most part, you are right to be excited. NBC's recent dramatic output has admittedly been middling at best (The Cape. Need I say more?) but we might make a testosterone-fueled exception for this one. Call us what you will, but before anything else we are men. Men who like women with posh, sexy accents like Hurley's. Her role in the pilot is yet to be confirmed, with her work Visa still pending at this point, but her appearance seems almost certain. As well as Palicki's Wonder Woman, Hurley will also be joined by Cold Case's Tracie Thoms, who shall be playing the role of Etta, Wonder Woman's alter-ego Diana Themyscira's jovial personal assistant.
