Game Of Thrones Season 7: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Spoils Of War'
"Dracarys!"
"I imagine you've seen things most men wouldn't believe," says Littlefinger to Bran Stark in this week's episode.
Aside from being something of a Blade Runner reference, it's a good entry point into summarising this episode. Because, well, holy sh*t, we saw some things in The Spoils of War that were almost unbelievable.
Unbelievably good, unbelievably dramatic, unbeliavably heart-pounding, unbelievably jaw-dropping, and, unbelievably, Bran wasn't awful.
A lot of people have been complaining about the pacing of this shortened season ("nothing happened" is a common, unjust criticism thus far), and certainly some were disappointed that we didn't get a major battle sequence in The Queen's Justice (though I stand by that being the correct decision).
Well, here you f**king go.
As promised, The Spoils of War gave us Daenerys' 'be the dragon' moment, Arya returned home, Theon returned to Dragonstone, Brienne was actually given something to do, and so much more besides, in what was basically an 'episode 9' at the halfway point of the season.
While not a completely perfect episode, it was mostly a stunning one, and yet again Season 7 just gets better every week.
