Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist are coming together for what is effectively TV's answer to The Avengers, only smaller in scale, bigger in runtime, and a heck of a lot darker.

In terms of critical response, the Netflix Marvel Universe has been at least as successful, if not more so, than the big screen MCU, with Iron Fist the only miss, and fan response has been even greater. It's safe to say, then, that there is a level of hype around The Defenders few other shows can garner, with the sort of long-term setup that Marvel have done so well in the movies. Add in the major supporting players from each show, various plot strands too, plus Sigourney Weaver as the Big Bad, and excitement just ramps up even more.
