When Daredevil arrived on our screens back in 2015, it completely changed the game of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Gone was the primary-coloured, joke-filled, popcorn entertainment, and in its place a dark, violent drama that banished all memories of the 2003 movie and brought the character roaring back into the mainstream.

It was such a success that, despite the initial plan being for all of The Defenders solo series to air in turn, a second season was fast-tracked and arrived just a year later. It wasn't quite at the same level, however, and the growth of the Netflix Marvel Universe means it's been a whopping two-and-a-half years since we last visited Matt Murdock's corner of New York.

After last being seen at the end of The Defenders, where he had a building come down on top of him and got thee to a nunnery, it's time for Matt to return. The trailers for Daredevil Season 3, which drops on October 19, have promised a bloody war between him and the returning Wilson Fisk, and after seeing the first six episodes of the 13 that will drop on Netflix, we have a good idea of how things are shaping up for The Man Without Fear.
