Fans who just can't wait for Christmas to see the newest Doctor Who holiday special can get a piece of it just a little bit early. BBC released an explosive prequel to the episode, which shows the Doctor caught with his finger on the button, literally. If he takes his finger off the button, he risks getting all...smithereeny. This will be Matt Smith's second Christmas episode, but the Doctor always manages to find his place in our hearts during the holidays. This year's Christmas special, "The Doctor, The Widow and the Wardrobe" was penned by Steven Moffat, who had this to say.
The Doctor at Christmas - it always just feels so right. When I was a kid, Santa and the Doctor somehow lived in the same place in my head - two generous madmen that I loved so much. So now that the Doctor is a regular feature of Christmas the world is just that bit more right.
The episode will have the Doctor travelling to the 1940s, where he meets the recently widowed mother of three, Madge Arwell played by Claire Skinner. We also know that her in-show husband, Reg Arwell (Alexander Armstrong) will be in the episode though in what capacity, we have no idea. I don't want to spoil too much for you so I'll just say, there's a major clue in the episodes title and another in a big blue present. Is that enough for you? No? Well here's a little more:
