Rick And Morty: 10 Worst Things Rick Has Done

Wubba lubba dub dub! What are the squanchiest things Rick has ever squanched?

Rick & Morty has already earned itself the title of modern classic after just three short seasons, but it clearly didn’t earn that accolade through Rick’s kindness. The hard-drinking protagonist is usually grouped with Archer & BoJack Horseman from their titular shows, as well as Futurama’s Bender. Even amongst that rogues gallery though, he’s the worst of the lot.

Though as a scientist he should have a largely peaceful life, death seems to follow wherever he goes. Because of this, things like ‘That Time Rick Killed...’ aren’t included unless they’re part of a bigger misdeed. That alone should give you some idea of the level of incident we’re dealing with here.

There are definitely moments when Rick shows flashes of goodness. Though he doesn’t always admit it, he loves his grandkids and can’t bear to not have Beth in his life. Compared to all the Ricks in the multiverse, ‘our’ Rick seems the least corporate, the least keen on actively oppressing others.

Loves his family and isn’t a dictator is a low bar to set your standards by though, and Rick has a lot of bad to wash out the good.

10. Kill The Simpsons

Kicking off with a non-canon entry, and because of that this can’t be put on the same level as the others. In a couch gag for The Simpsons, Rick and Morty crash their spaceship into 742 Evergreen Terrace, turning the family to yellow goo.

Rick, usually apathetic towards death, berates Morty for killing an animated classic while his grandson freaks out. Rick however comes up with a plan. Gather the splattered remains into a beaker and take it to a cloning facility to get them rebuilt. As usual, he tasks Morty with doing the bulk of the work, while he just sits and relaxes at home.

For being a very short guest spot on another show, Morty’s mini-adventure feels very true to the usual escapades he gets up to on Adult Swim. Rick on the other hand, stays in Springfield, drinks Homer’s beer and blasts Flanders with a freeze ray. When Morty returns, Rick remembers he washed the beaker out with spit, and the Simpsons are turned into weird Rick hybrids.

Arguably the worst part of this though is having Bart end with ‘No more guest animators, man!’. Bart Simpson saying ‘man’? That is so 1991.
