This week saw the return of the excellent and much missed Ripper Street to our television screens. As the days grow shorter and the nights grow colder, the return of the dark crime-riddled alleyways of Victorian London comes just in time to fill our wintery Monday evenings. 'Pure as the Driven', episode one of the new season, continues the story of Reid, Drake and Jackson as they track down criminals on the streets of Whitechapel. Although the spectre of Jack the Ripper is fading, you can bet that season two won't be lacking in mystery, corruption and good old-fashioned (quite literally in this case) detective work. Many of the things we loved about Ripper Street continued over from the last series Arthurton's luxurious ginger beard, Long Susan's fabulous dresses, the range of wonderful tartan trousers on show. However, as episode one of the new season proves, not everything on the show is perfect. Here we've collected 3 things we loved and three things we didn't from 'Pure as the Driven'. Warning: This article contains SPOILERS for Ripper Street: 'Pure as the Driven'.
