The Flash Season 6 Review: 4 Ups & 2 Downs From 'License To Elongate'

Danielle Panabaker's direction complements a classic 007-inspired offering of The Flash.

Barry Allen's attempts to prepare for the upcoming Crisis have seen him take most of his current Team Flash members under his wing at one point or another, as he wanted to see how they would manage in a world without The Flash and, by extension, prepare them for that inevitability.

In a way, that's what the majority of this season has been about - preparing for a world without the Scarlet Speedster - so it's hardly surprising that after a one week break, the show has given us yet another episode built upon that very foundation. This one, however, is a little more sytlized than the rest.

On paper, 'License To Elongate' might sound like a really bizarre and off-the-wall James Bond adventure but in reality it's a, well, really bizarre and off-the-wall James Bond adventure. However, the point is that an episode as seemingly filler as this actually has a real purpose as, much like every episode in Arrow's final season, the writers successfully managed to produce a standalone offering that was still incredibly relevant to the overall story - one that benefited from Danielle Panabaker's impressive direction.
