The Mandalorian Season 2: 10 Biggest Moments And Reveals In "The Marshal"

Din Djarin and The Child have returned to Disney+, and this opening chapter is a game-changer!

Earlier today, The Mandalorian finally returned to Disney+ for an episode that kicks off season two in style. The first batch of episodes received widespread acclaim from fans and critics alike, and even overshadowed Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker last December (a bad movie made even more disappointing by it not living up to the lofty heights on this TV series).

The series premiere featured that jaw-dropping Baby Yoda reveal, and with Iron Man and The Lion King director Jon Favreau stepping behind the camera for this opening chapter, there's an equally big surprise for Star Wars fans this time which is going to leave people talking all week.

It's clear now that season two is going to take Din Djarin and The Child to some unexpected places as the bounty hunter sets off on a mission to reunite the adorable Yoda lookalike with its people, the Jedi. This super-sized episode - titled "The Marshal" - was big on action, but firmly brings The Mandalorian into the wider Star Wars Universe... for better or worse.

Here, you'll find an in-depth recap of Chapter 9's biggest reveals and moments, including what that jaw-dropping final scene might mean for the Mandalorian over the course of the next seven episodes.

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

10. Fight Club

The episode kicks off with Din Djarin and the Child heading to a shady underground fight club where two Gamorreans are going at it with Vibro-axes. The Mandalorian meets with the one-eyed Gore Keresh; he seeks information about the location of his fellow Mandalorians and has heard that the alien has what he needs.

Despite offering payment for that intel, Keresh turns on him because he has a fascination with Beskar armour, but Din makes short work of his men (which include a Maul-like Dathomirian).

After capturing the fleeing gangster, the bounty hunter gets the information he wanted. There's a Mandalorian on Tatooine, news which shocks Din when he's spent a lot of time there and never crossed paths with one of his people.

Longtime Star Wars fans will have an inkling of who that might be, of course, and the titular hero leaves Keresh to the mercy of the planet's creatures as he sets off, alongside the Child, to that planet.
