The term 'so near, yet so far' has never been more appropriate. The Walking Dead is back with a bang, with a Premiere that saw a military-precise operation going inch-perfectly, before the show suddenly remembered it thrives on death and despair, and rapidly veered off course - literally. Flashbacks perfectly painted a picture of the world post-Season 5, and the sheer scale of the 'walker quarry' was staggering as Season 6 got underway. It's been a while since the walkers were a genuine, game-changing threat, but that's all changed. This herd means business. The entire episode was very cleverly put together, as the seemingly slow-moving flashbacks actually raced through the storylines everyone expected from the first half of the season, in just one episode. They were all interwoven with the literally slow-moving sea of walkers as they were carefully shuffled away from Alexandria. We got to see a quick glimpse of every character in some shape or form, and of course there was time for a cheeky (pun intended...) death. The last minute of the episode obliterated everything, but it was a unified group to begin with, and already fans are desperate for answers to some nagging questions which will hopefully be addressed in the weeks to come...
