Earlier this year, YOU essentially became the TV equivalent of the little engine that could. Originally a Lifetime series, it debuted at the end of last year to fairly solid ratings for a show on that particular American network. However, it was internationally distributed on Netflix and that ended up turning it into something of a phenomenon - so much so that, following the announcement that it had been renewed for a second season, it was revealed that Netflix had taken over from Lifetime altogether and would produce it as one of the streaming service's own original series.

A starring vehicle for Gossip Girl's Penn Badgley, it followed the unsettling infatuations of protagonist Joe Goldberg, who worked in a bookstore and became obsessed with new customer Guinevere Beck. And it documented the pair's relationship as, through Joe's unique manipulation, they went from acquaintances to friends to more - none of which was ever good enough for him.

Well, after much anticipation, Netflix has released the first trailer for YOU's second season, and it's really quite alluring. As there is a lot to discuss, let's delve right into it and see if it maintains the momentum of the thrilling first season.
