After years of anticipation, Young Justice finally made its long-awaited return to our screens earlier this year when its third season (which is subtitled 'Outsiders') made its debut on the DC Universe streaming service.

Though it focused on a new tale - one that involved a metahuman trafficking operation - the show did make use of its overall narrative (through references to the villainous faction known as 'The Light') to tie it all together. That metahuman trafficking storyline saw the introduction of new heroes, in the form of Geo-Force, Halo, Forager and Cyborg and, just like that, the Justice League's covert ops team grew in size (even though not everyone loved the idea of being a superhero).

Returning from a midseason hiatus, this week's trio of episodes, 'Influence', 'Leverage' and 'Illusion of Control' mixed things up, with some maintaining the focus on the main narrative in a welcome bid to provide us with answers, while others stripped things back and offered some pleasant character work instead.

That being said, could the midseason premiere maintain the show's momentum? Let's find out.
