Given that Darkseid was teased during the show's Season 2 finale, we all predicted that he would have a part to play in the long-awaited third season. However, when it finally arrived on our screens, his involvement wasn't obvious right away. That is, until the introduction of the eerily cheery Granny Goodness all-but-confirmed it.

Well, after endless news broadcasts to feature "dear old Granny!", we finally got the chance to see the real Granny Goodness in the first of this week's episodes: 'Influence'.

As Granny instructed Big Barda and the Female Furies to destroy the Justice League, we witnessed one heck of a battle - one that confirmed that Darkseid and his army are a force to be reckoned with. However, Granny's influence would be even greater on Earth, as she managed to manipulate the public into thinking that her infamous VR Goggles were the work of a disgruntled employee and, as a result, maintained her squeaky-clean persona.

The relationship between Darkseid and Granny Goodness in the comics is well-documented and, by the looks of things here, Granny has everyone right where Darkseid wants them (both in Space and on Earth) - and that has instantly made this season a lot more interesting.

Could his arrival be sooner than we think?
