The primary objective of a television show's opening credits is to set the tone for the audience. In about thirty seconds or less (sometimes a little more), producers aim to provide an intriguing hook - a way of saying "This is what we are, and this is what you're about to see, so don't change that channel!". Whether it's the animated clouds parting and heavenly choir announcing The Simpsons, or the sight of a bleak deserted highway to begin The Walking Dead, a strong opener can have the audience's attention immediately. For almost four decades, WWE's production team have put together dozens of epic show intros for the company's huge portfolio of TV content. Not only have there been countless shows over the years from Raw and Smackdown to Action Zone and Bottom Line, but each show's intro would often be switched up as fashions changed and rosters shifted. That's a lot of intros, folks. From the saxophone heavy montages of the early 80's to the angry jumpcuts of the 90's and beyond, these WWE intros also act as time capsules, showing us exactly what the WWE was like at a given moment in its long broadcast history. With all that in mind, I've selected what I think are ten of the best openers to WWE TV shows.
