10 Cross-Brand WWE Matches We Must See

WWE has given itself plenty of options for Big Four PPVs in future.

The draft came, the draft saw, the draft was underwhelming. 59 names were read out on Tuesday as RAW and SmackDown split into two separate entities, with Seth Rollins being the first and NXT's Carmella the last. The fates of an entire roster fixed, in just one night.

RAW and SmackDown will now have separate schedules and separate pay-per-views. The increased exposure will mean new rivalries on both brands, as they both try to put together enough feuds to fill those pay-per-views. They will certainly manage, although a return to the dark days of Mordecai vs. Bob Holly calibre contests plaguing the supershows is not impossible.

One of the best things about the brand split long ago was how special certain big matches felt at the big PPVs. There would generally be one or two cross-brand matches, and they felt like truly special bouts. This is clearly a result of individuals being kept apart from each other, and it worked.

This was lost once the split disappeared, and matches that could have felt special became frequent occurrences. With the renewal of the split, WWE once again has the chance to create special matches between individuals on separate brands, to make the big PPVs feel monumental once more.

Going on the two rosters from last night, here are 10 cross-brand matches that WWE should book at some point in the future. Make those big shows special guys, make them special.

10. The Dissolution Of The Wyatt Family

Okay, so nobody is particularly clamouring for a Braun Strowman vs. Erick Rown match any time soon, but one point of interest coming out of last night's draft was the splitting up of the Wyatt Family once again. Bray and Rowan now find themselves on SmackDown, whereas Strowman is left to go it alone on RAW.

It'll be extremely interesting to see where Strowman goes from here, as this is going to be a real sink or swim moment for him. The guy has a legitimate charisma, so allowing him the chance to talk might be the way forward. If he can gain some steam as a big babyface, a showdown with Bray Wyatt further down the line would have a lot of value.

The real point of interest with the Wyatts involves the member currently on the sidelines. Where does Luke Harper fit into all of this? If Harper is to return on RAW, then a Luke Harper vs. Bray Wyatt match is something that simply must happen at some point.

Harper is sneakily one of the best wrestlers in the company, and being allowed to spread his wings will be of great benefit for both the company and the man formerly known as Brodie Lee.
