10 Current Wrestlers Who Would Have Had More Success In The Attitude Era

Who needs an attitude adjustment?

Chair shots to the head, lingerie pillow fights, and provocative storylines were just a few of the spectacles fans witnessed during the Attitude Era. In those days, professional wrestlers could stretch the boundaries of good taste to the very limit and viewers couldn't seem to get enough.

Imagine if some of today's Superstars had the luxury of being able to participate in adult-oriented angles and ultraviolent matches. If a character like Roman Reigns could down a few whiskey shots and add some coarse language to his promos, he could finally become the main event star WWE so desperately wants him to be. Unfortunately, the former Shield member is stuck wearing a flak vest and cutting awkward promos aimed at trying to convince fans that he's 'The Big Dog.'

However, Reigns isn't alone. There are several current performers who would have enjoyed more success, had they debuted in WWE during the late 1990s or early 2000s. While the PG Era has created a more family-friendly product, it has also kept some acts from reaching their full potential.

With that in mind, let's take a look at how some of today's top stars could have taken their careers to the next level, had they debuted in the Attitude Era.

10. Titus O'Neil

At 6'6" and with a chiseled physique, Titus O'Neil is one of the most intimidating looking men on the entire WWE roster. However, for whatever reason, he is currently being used as a comedy act.

At present, O'Neil is stuck in mid-card purgatory with likes of Dana Brooke and Apollo Crews, at the head of a stable that appears to be headed nowhere fast.

Had the leader of Titus Worldwide debuted during the Attitude Era, he would have been a good fit for the hardcore division. Participating in hardcore matches would have helped O'Neil develop a tough guy persona, as stars like Bradshaw did during this period.

As WWE Hardcore Champion, he wouldn't be headlining WrestleMania, but it would at least allow him to fully utilize his physical gifts and move away from bad comedy angles.
