10 Dumbest WWE PPV Names Ever
Great Balls of Fire ain't so bad after all.
The WWE Universe was left in a state of bemused disbelief with the recent announcement that July's planned Bad Blood PPV would be replaced with a new event called...Great Balls of Fire.
The Internet Wrestling Community has wasted no time ripping the bizarre name to shreds, but the fun and games will truly reach fever pitch next month, when fans get to listen to announcers and wrestlers alike repeating the mind-boggling name over and over again with a straight face in the lead up to July 9th.
Though Great Balls of Fire is destined to be remembered for its horrendously cringe-worthy title above all else, it isn't even the worst of the worst that WWE has come up with over the years, being easily over-shadowed by these 10 poorly thought-out, boring, idiotic and even unintentionally hilarious PPV names that have lived on in infamy ever since.
10. Cyber Sunday
It seemed like WWE couldn't come up with a more horrendous tech-themed PPV name than Taboo Tuesday, but when the event was moved to Sunday nights in 2006, they one-upped it with the facepalm-inducing Cyber Sunday.
Aside from the lazy attempt at alliteration, the word "cyber" has decidedly sexual connotations for an entire generation of people who grew up with the Internet in the early 2000s, and so its use as a wrestling PPV name is rather unfortunate, to say the least.
It's a shame, as the fan interaction gimmick was a pretty cool one, if overshadowed somewhat by two incredibly goofy names.
