10 Dumbest WWE PPV Names Ever
9. Bragging Rights
Bragging Rights replaced Cyber Sunday in 2009, and saw Raw and SmackDown competing in a series of matches to determine which brand was dominant and would earn a trophy symbolising, yes, those ever-important bragging rights.
Though there's nothing inherently wrong with a brand vs. brand PPV, naming the show Bragging Rights just makes it sound hopelessly low-stakes, like something two kids might fight over in the school playground.
Furthermore, SmackDown was categorically the B-show beyond any doubt in the late 2000s, so the idea that the blue guys could stand to gain anything worthwhile from this just ended up ringing rather hollow.
And finally, there were also regular title defenses on these shows too, which somewhat diluted WWE's half-baked attempt to make a legit gimmick PPV out of the name.
In the weird and wonderful world of wrestling, where high-stakes title matches are all the rage, is it really good enough to theme a PPV around the right to brag to your rivals? And to go at it so lazily? It was lame and childish, and unsurprisingly only lasted two years.
