10 Football Teams You Didn't Know WWE Superstars Supported

I'm a huge fan of the Tottenham Hotspurs.

On one level, it seems mad to imagine that WWE wrestlers are able to spend even a few minutes of their day thinking about something besides winning the Royal Rumble and capturing title gold at WrestleMania.

But, much to the chagrin of Vince McMahon, it turns out that many of them (Bray Wyatt excepted) actually have pursuits outside of the squared circle, one of these - or so we are told - being the beautiful game.

Several of the company's biggest names have professed a liking for a football club, and who are any of us to suggest that they are merely trying to curry favour with international fans by attaching themselves to teams they only knew existed after discovering them while browsing the menu on FIFA?

The fact is that there are different ways to show your support for a side. The football fascists will claim that you have to buy a season ticket and decorate your house in their colours and be able to name three of their players, but Tweeting the hashtag "#GoHammersGo" can sometimes be just as effective.

Note: Roman Reigns will not be featured on this list as we don't know for sure which team he supports (but yes we do: it's Manchester United).

10. John Cena - Tottenham Hotspur

John Cena is a fan of Tottenham Hotspur. Or, put more accurately: John Cena pretends to be a fan of Tottenham Hotspur for a few fleeting moments each year when the WWE roster heads to the UK on its annual European tour.

To be fair to Big Match John, though, he has followed through on his word, visiting White Hart Lane - the club's now demolished stadium - a couple of times, even sharing the odd photo opportunity with Gerry Francis, the only man in the country who still has a mullet.

Besides, Tottenham are actually a pretty good fit for his personality. In England, the North London side are also renowned for their ability to rise to the big occasion - hence the popular expression, "lads, it's Spurs" (meaning, "oh s**t! It's Spurs!").

In all seriousness, they are one of the top sides in the Premier League, and having the backing of the biggest wrestling star this side of Rock and Austin is a nice feather in their cap.

It's exactly the kind of thing that's going to persuade Harry Kane to resist the advances of Real Madrid.
