10 HUGE WWE Royal Rumble 2022 Predictions You Need To Know

Will the return of the Royal Rumble bring about some of the biggest returns in company history?

The Royal Rumble cannot be ruined. This is surely now objectively true, with history confirming it.

The company's lean 1990s years reduced the run-time of one Rumble and robbed several others of many proper stars, but the stakes and ramifications helped wrestlers prevail in spite of the obvious disparity.

WWE's abysmal mid-2010s booking couldn't destroy the prestige of the annual battle royal, despite the persistent failure to elevate Roman Reigns across multiple widely discredited January supershows.

Even the pandemic and general ThunderDome vibe couldn't diminish the magic when both Bianca Belair and Edge won well-regarded Battle Royals that were fought as if thousands were in attendance rather than simply watching on those soulless ThunderDome screens. The gimmick had overpowered the very worst possible circumstances at the worst time, and actually bred a bit of hope and optimism for the WrestleMania still to come.

2022's has very few challenges other than some extremely obvious ones. Who's winning the Rumbles? Who can, for that matter? What returns have WWE got planned? What rumours will they confirm, deny or reveal on one of the biggest nights of the year?

The Road To WrestleMania starts here. Time, too, for the ludicrous speculation to commence...

10. Edge & Beth Phoenix Vs. The Miz & Maryse

A great Royal Rumble undercard attraction for how little it feels like it really matters in the grand scheme of things whilst also promising something good on the night, Edge & Beth Phoenix' first ever match together as a married couple should be a total blast.

The quality of the storyline might have undulated, but both The Miz and Maryse have brilliantly committed to as much sh*thousery as possible in selling their respective fears over fighting the "Grit Couple".

A match that should come without a middle section, expect this to be all spots, bits and comedy at the expense of any significant amount of time working on a body part. And it'll be all the better for it.

This is all presumably leading to 'The Glamazon' absolutely battering her fellow former Divas and Women's Champion in a more preferable version of the bland Miz/Edge match at Day 1. Ultimately, if this delivers, it'll just about justify the existence of that.

Winners - Edge & Beth Phoenix
