Today's hot take economy values the hysterical and extreme over the fair and rational, with ridiculous, fringe opinions amplified by well-meaning moderates in the name of the mighty dunk. Quote-tweets and other multipliers give oxygen to takes that would asphyxiate in the real world. The kind of excessive negativity easily disproven by a single Google search has become currency. Regardless of who they are and where they work, no wrestler is safe from an egg avatar with five followers laying into them with the fury of somebody who's just watched said wrestler defecate on their mother.

While accepting that a wrestler's work isn't for you and moving on isn't necessarily a minority stance, tribalists scream loudest in the wrestling culture war. This list's subjects are often their most frequent targets.

It should be stressed that most of these wrestlers are backed by an army of supporters greatly outnumbering those who consider them the equivalent of war criminals. Again, it's a volume thing - and harsh criticisms always drown out earnest praise.

Into the swamp of bubbling rage...
