10 New Directions For AEW After Revolution 2024

Sting's new role, HUGE AEW debuts and more after a memorable Revolution card.

Tony Khan promised Sting he'd end his career properly when the legend signed on the dotted line with AEW, and the boss came through on that at Revolution. He booked a sensationally-dramatic final chapter for one of wrestling's greatest stars, and let the icon go out on top with his surprise AEW Tag Title reign intact.

'Little Stingers' everywhere couldn't have asked for more.

Now, what's next? AEW's 2024 party doesn't stop. They've got a massive debut to plot out in mid-March, and the new Dynasty pay-per-view will need some planning itself before late-April. Then, of course, there's the not-so-small matter of getting everyone prepped for another blockbuster stadium show over in the UK this summer.

Before then, All Elite fans can look forward to title changes, possible faction implosions, babyface runs everyone can get fully behind, and more. Sting's curious comments during the post-Revolution press conference also hint that he isn't quite done with this pro wrestling stuff after all.

Here's where AEW goes next. There's a lot to get through here (including plenty of guesswork), so brace yourselves for many twists and turns!

10. Christian Cage’s Patriarchy Crumbling

All good things must come to an end.

That's true of Sting's in-ring career, and it's true of Christian Cage's career-best heel run as a tyrannical, daddy-bashing dirtbag. AEW must find a satisfying way for all of this "Patriarchy" stuff to end. Revolution kinda suggested it's coming close to time for Cage to get his ultimate comeuppance then move onto something else.

Linking back up with Adam Copeland for a 'Don't Call Them E&C' tag-team run is a can't miss prospect, but Christian is skilled enough to make anything work after this. Was his pre-match smooch a sign that Cage is ready to kiss goodbye to the TNT Title (a belt he's rescued from pass the parcel hell)?

All Elite definitely don't want to get mired in a situation that sees Cage's act play before diminishing returns. He deserves better than that. Daniel Garcia, despite his fine performance in the opener, probs won't be the one to end Christian's tyranny though.

So, who is it gonna be? The fun is in the finding out.
