Ohhhh yeeeeaaaah!

Undeniably one of the most intense, charismatic and skilled professional wrestlers to ever work a match, Randy Savage helped to define an era of professional wrestling. The Macho Man wore the WWE Championship twice and the WCW Championship on no less than four occasions. He is one of the most recognisable names and one of the most imitated personalities in wrestling€™s long and storied history. He was a consistent main event draw across three different decades. He was also the most recognisable star in wrestling after Hulk Hogan and he was always great for business. In short, Savage€™s CV speaks for itself. ...So why isn€™t The Macho Man in the WWE Hall of Fame? It€™s a big and oft-asked question. So, before we go any further, lets address the most common reasons that fans and wrestlers alike usually give for Savage€™s absence from the HoF... 1) Vince McMahon and Savage had a real life falling out after Savage jumped ship to WCW... Long time fans know that Savage was upset that the company wanted to keep him on as a colour commentator, when he still felt he had a lot to offer in the ring. After they refused to let him wrestle, Savage joined the competition with an axe to grind and a point to prove. 2) Rumours abound that Randy engaged in an illicit affair with an underage Stephanie McMahon... Stephanie, the boss€™ little girl, was just 17 at the time this affair is supposed to have taken place. Did it really happen? Nobody seems to know for sure, but if it did, it would certainly explain why McMahon eventually welcomed all other WCW €˜defectors€™ back to the fold - except Randy. It would also explain his absence from the HoF. 3) Savage wanted his entire family inducted... According to Macho Man€™s brother, who wrestled as Lanny €˜The Genius€™ Poffo, Savage€™s wish was to see his entire family inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, as opposed to just himself. Randy and Lanny were the sons of legendary wrestler Angelo Poffo, a star of the early TV era. After seeing the Von Erich family inducted, Savage felt that his father and brother were worthy of nominations as well €“ and would likely have held out for it. In truth, Lanny has been approached by the WWE about inducting his brother into the Hall of Fame (it happened before WrestleMania XXVIII), but declined the offer on the grounds that he felt it would contravene his brother€™s wishes... However, with the WWE reaching out to even its most estranged former employees in recent years, this writer reckons its time to put personal differences aside and welcome one of the greatest WWE Superstars of all time into the Hall of Fame. Here are 10 Reasons why...
