WWE likes to say WrestleMania is their version of the Super Bowl. But for wrestling fans, it's so much bigger—and more personal—than that.
'Mania is supposed to be the night when Vince McMahon pays off all those countless hours devoted to his product over the previous 12 months. It's when we finally see those long-awaited dream matches taking place and witness those iconic "WrestleMania moments."
That means when the final card comes together, it can make you feel ripped off for pouring so much of your free time into watching, debating, reading, speculating and getting excited over something that ends up becoming so lackluster. This is especially true when things could have easily been so much better.
Right now, the overall mood for WrestleMania 33 seems to be largely apathetic. Extreme part-time acts in Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Triple H and The Undertaker are still positioned as the most important wrestlers in the company. John Cena, the biggest star of the past decade, will be in a mixed tag. The tag and women's divisions matches feel thrown together. This is the best Vince's team could come up with?
