10 Reasons WrestleMania 33 Could Have Been The Best Ever
10. Nakamura Could Have Easily Been On The Show
WWE has been incredibly strange with the talent they call up to the main roster. Carmella, Braun Strowman, and Apollo Crews were all called up too early, while Samoa Joe was ready the moment he signed on with the company. Currently, it’s simply a bad business decision to keep Nakamura in NXT. He could be competing in front of sold out crowds instead of wrestling in front of a few hundreds fans.
He’s one of the best wrestlers in the world by almost any metric, but he’s stuck in developmental. As much as NXT needs him, he would be making more money for himself and the company by being at WrestleMania. To make things even more of a downer, he’s facing Bobby Roode at the upcoming TakeOver, which is their biggest show of the year, but it's only a rematch (albeit a good one) from a prior event.
Nakamura should absolutely be in front of that huge worldwide audience at 'Mania with an electric entrance behind him and an ecstatic crowd roaring when his music plays. It would likely be amazing. At 37-years-old—and years of strong style matches in Japan taking their toll—there’s no telling how many 'Manias the man has left in him. This seems like a missed opportunity, as he could have put on a classic with A.J. Styles, John Cena, Sami Zayn, Dolph Ziggler, or even The Undertaker.
As good as Nakamura/Roode may be, the Japanese superstar deserved better for 'Mania season and he would have made the show that much stronger.
