10 Rivalries That Will Define WWE In 2018

Shield versus Shield. Father versus Son.

Every WWE year on record is defined, foremostly, by its biggest and most intense feuds.

In the case of 2017, it was perhaps that of Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman, who met both in SummerSlam's four-way main event car crash and the following month at No Mercy.

And now that the bones of a WrestleMania card are slowly beginning to form, we're in a pretty good position to predict which rivalries will leave a similar mark on 2018.

On paper, this coming year looks set to be a time of great wrestling change. Veterans like Kurt Angle, Triple H and John Cena may all be close to calling time on their careers in the ring, whilst Brock Lesnar could yet be lured back to the Octagon.

At the other side of the spectrum, there are a host of comparatively young stars waiting for their chance to step into the main event, many of them - Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Finn Bálor, for instance - having endured a frustrating last 12 months.

All of this is to say that next year could be very interesting - even if we end up getting the 'Mania main event nobody wants to see.
