WWE's Bloodline saga has been pro wrestling's best story for a while now.

The interplay between luminaries like Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, The Usos, Solo Sikoa and Sami Zayn has entertained millions, enthralled the entire industry, created or reshaped company careers and earned praise from Hollywood actors (no, not The Rock - although even ol' Dwayne would have to tip his cap at what's been happening on SmackDown).

It's been so good that those working it are seriously side-eying the silver screen and borrowing from Hollywood enough to credibly look at Emmy awards and say, 'Hey! Why not us?!'. If this all sounds like gushing hyperbole, then sorry. The person writing this is a huge fan of The Bloodline story, and has been totally swept away by all the on-screen drama.

How much do you really know about Bloodline business behind the scenes though? Please take a second to properly think about that, because it's a worthy question. Do you know what triggered Roman Reigns to start the group? Are you aware of exactly who was less-than-thrilled with the thought of being involved?

This article has answers, and peels back the curtain on WWE's modern magnum opus. Enjoy!

The 6 December 2019 episode of SmackDown (and all of that dog food stuff) told Roman Reigns one thing: WWE's creative team didn't have a clue what it was doing, or how to present him as a sympathetic character. So, as revealed by Paul Heyman during interviews, the future 'Tribal Chief' decided to take matters into his own hands.

Roman's sabbatical due to health concerns before WrestleMania 36 helped too. WWE were forced to hit pause on Reigns' babyface run, and he convinced them he'd be better off as an elitist heel once he returned. At SummerSlam 2020, Roman roared back into view then aligned with Heyman on the following TV.

This story will be interesting to anybody who figured Reigns was a WWE robot who'd mindlessly do anything they wanted him to. At times, that's what it looked like, but he was clearly unhappy with the creative process and pushed for meaningful change. Better yet, Roman had the influence to make that a reality.
