Chris Jericho kicked off his first podcast of the week joined by Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer for a review of WWE's Royal Rumble event, addressing all the controversy and criticism surrounding wrestling's second biggest show of the year. Y2J took the position of a loyal company guy and reacted a little more favourably than most of his contemporaries and supported the decision to have Roman Reigns win the Rumble. The second half of the podcast featured an interview with Wade "Bad News" Barrett. The current WWE Intercontinental Champion has had quite a few ups and downs in his five year career with the top promotion the business, dealing with multiple injuries and flirting with being a main eventer. Now he's finally found a gimmick that's caught on with the audience and is regaining some momentum, and the NXT season one winner seems poised to ascend the ladder once again. This interview - as do most of the appearances from current WWE wrestlers on Jericho's show, particularly Ryback - should help to establish Barrett as a charismatic guy who's knowledgeable about the business and has a lot to offer. Listeners were treated to some interesting insight from a guy who hasn't had a lot of opportunity to show more of himself outside the strict confines of his WWE scripts. If you thought this interview was going to be boring...I"m afraid I've got some bad news.
