Wade Barrett has been a WWE television character for five-and-half-years now. That's an awful lot of time, but what has Wade done with it or, more to the point, what has WWE creative done with him? He's been an NXT contestant (back when it was a wildly inconsistent pusedo reality show), NXT winner and Nexus leader, an Intercontinental Champion and leader of the 'Barrett Barrage', he's delivered bad news from a giant podium, he's been a King and, presently, he's a member of the League of Nations stable. Actually, he's presently pinned to the sidelines, denied in-ring competition due to a neck injury that WWE officials fear could be serious. Injuries are nothing new to Barrett, his WWE career having been stopped and started many times over due to wear-and-tear as much as haphazzard creative. Indeed, Barrett's career has been nothing if not consistent. A big lad more than capable of delivering a cracking match or a money promo, Barrett's career has been labelled a disappointment by many. He and WWE have made many missteps along the way, leading to one or two incidences that WWE would rather you forget, as they soldier on with half-heartedly pushing the talented 35-year-old...
