Last Monday night, Ryback rolled up Seth Rollins to score a victory over the WWE Champion. Although a non-title match, it demonstrated just how far the big guy has come - especially since acting as one of Wade Barrett's more underwhelming Nexus lackeys. But Ryback's WWE career stretches much further back than his time in NXT. He's been affiliated with the company for over a decade now, accumulating all sorts of experience along the way. Ryback's love of the wrestling industry stretches back to childhood, and although he's come under a certain amount of criticism throughout his time in the business, it's always nice to see a bonafide fan achieve their dream of making it in the WWE. Here are 10 surprising facts you may not know about 'The Human Wrecking Ball', starting off with an explanation for his immense physique.
10. He's Worked Out Since The Age Of 12
The most immediately noticeable thing about Ryback is, of course, his body. Perhaps the most muscular man on the entire WWE roster, he naturally consumes an astonishing amount of calories, and spends a lot of time in the gym between meals. But the most telling fact about Ryback's dedication to his physique is the fact that he's been working out since the age of 12; the gym is simply a way of life for the Intercontinental Champion. In a recent interview with The State-Journal Register, he stated 'I don't know any other way [...] The result of how I look is secondary to me. It's how I feel. It's a great stress relief'. The physical side-effects of such a gruelling lifestyle may be secondary for Ryback, but they certainly helped him stand out in the WWE more than any other factor.
