10 Wrestlers Who Beat Goldberg

The Protected One.

Goldberg is to be inducted into WWE's Hall of Fame ahead of WrestleMania 34 this year, putting the icing on the cake of one of wrestling's all-time greatest runs in the squared circle.

Uniquely, the ex-WCW juggernaut's career is remembered not for the quality, or even quantity of his matches; rather, we celebrate the fact that he would decimate everyone who dared to join him in the ring in no more than two or three minutes.

In order to sustain a gimmick like this, it followed that Goldberg couldn't afford to lose very often. In fact, tasted defeat so rarely that it's possible to put all of those who beat him on an 11-man list (and many of these weren't single matches either*).

Can you imagine if any of the current cast of WWE wrestlers - let's say Roman Reigns, for the sake of argument - boasted a record like this today? The fans would be on the verge of rioting every time his music sounded.

*Multi-man matches (excluding Royal Rumbles) in which Goldberg fought as a singles competitor are counted here, while tag team bouts are not.

10. Batista & Randy Orton - Raw 2003

Batista and Randy Orton will be counted as a single entity for the purposes of our list. Both of them scored a win over Goldberg in a November 2003 three-on-one handicap match, helping their Evolution leader avenge his defeat at Survivor Series the previous night.

Here, the odds were stacked against Bill not only because of the numerical disadvantage but also because he had a busted-up ankle. A few weeks earlier, The Animal trapped his foot in a steel chair and jumped on it from the top turnbuckle, in turn collecting Triple H's $100,000 bounty.

It was The Game, of course, who claimed the decisive blow, nailing him with a Pedigree after Randy and Dave had both landed their respective finishers in quick succession. The trio would gladly have inflicted more damage too, were it not for the post-match intervention of Kane.

This - in case you were wondering - was one of three occasions during Goldberg's 2003 run that Triple H managed to put him away, the other two of which we'll come to momentarily.
