10 Wrestling Spots Nobody Does Anymore

Watch most wrestling matches today and you're likely to see more spots than the average teenager's face.
Tried-and-tested crowd poppers like the double down, any variation on the Canadian Destroyer theme, big dives to the outside and a number of other go-to 'movez' are rife, and perhaps rightfully so when they're so eye-catching. This continued desire to progress, progress, progress beyond the limits of age old wrasslin' into something akin to a flawless dance routine has left some golden oldies behind.
No, your writer isn't talking about himself there (well, sort of), he's instead referring to the classic spots that pretty much nobody does anymore. There are plenty of examples, and it's often jarring to fire up the WWE Network, relive an old pay-per-view and see the workers rely on things that'd seem out-of-place on Raw, SmackDown, NXT, Dynamite or anywhere not-named NWA Powerrr.
Please note that some of these spots will probably be used in the future, probably on that NWA show. Almost everything comes back around again, but the purpose of this article is to show how much the general machinations of a worked match have changed since the 1990s.
