Last week on Raw, John Cena and Kane competed in a stretcher match to determine the final participant in the Money in the Bank ladder match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The match was important for two reasons. First, it finalized the field for Sundays championship match. More importantly, Cena thrusting Kane across the finish line may have been the first documented instance of John Cena giving a fellow superstar a push. Fans who tuned in for the contest undoubtedly heard the announce team hooting and hollering about how last weeks stretcher match was the first time the match was held on Raw in almost a decade. The match is a rarely used gimmick, and mostly for good reason. Previous stretcher matches have been uninspiring, including the contest fans witnessed on Raw last week. Additionally, the stipulation lacks the finality that is prevalent in other gimmick matches. Other matches, such as a casket and ambulance matches, feature a definitive ending where the superstar is placed in a container. The stretcher match, on the other hand, ends after a superstar is placed on the gurney and wheeled through an arbitrary finish line in a conclusion that is about as satisfying as a slice of cold, day-old pizza. Fear not though, as the stretcher match is not the worst idea the company has ever concocted. Here are ten matches that are even worse than the stretcher match.
