February 2016 will mark two years since the launch of the WWE Network and while theres no doubt been some great content produced for the online streaming service, theyve only just scratched the surface on what they could do with it. It would be easy to write an article on 10 Archive TV Shows or Promotions that we'd like to see more of on the Network, but with the recent addition of some Stampede, UWF, Smoky Mountain and Jim Crockett stuff, it seems WWE are taking notice that fans are craving some of the older content theyve either never seen or want to revisit. In terms of original content, the live events from Tokyo and MSG were big hits on the Network, as have been the various Stone Cold Podcasts that took place after live RAW shows, but a lot of the other original content such as The List or Countdown has been fairly pedestrian. Having spoken to a lot of wrestling fans and mulling over some of the things that I'd personally enjoy watching and concepts I think would work, I've devised a list of potential original WWE Network shows.
10. Daily Sports Show With Scott Stanford
The best way to enjoy the WWE product is when they treat it like its a legitimate sport and you see interviews, video packages and analysis as if it is. Theres a gap in the market for the WWE Network to have a daily 30 minute show where Scott Stanford can report on the latest WWE news and be a go-to for wrestling fans on a Monday-Friday. Stanford is one of the best WWE announcers in terms of likeability, believability and could really make a show like this his own. From cutting to interviews with WWE talent like an old school Event Center to talking about WWEs live event in whichever city they were in the night before, it would give people a reason to care about the content. Short Breaking Ground type video packages of 2-3 minutes on stars like Tyler Breeze, Kevin Owens, Sheamus and others could help the fans invest in their upcoming match that night on RAW or that weekend on the Network special. Theres an excellent opportunity here to do a better job with the current roster in making them feel like stars and seeing real reactions from the athletes when they succeed in a title opportunity or see how they react when they fail.
