10 WWE Tweaks Triple H Needs To Make Quickly

Real change takes time, but there are certainly some instant changes that can get the ball rolling.

It feels like a sudden wave of optimism has swept over WWE off the back of Triple H's return. His appointment as Head of Talent Relations and subsequent taking on of the role of Head of Creative has given fans a modicum of hope that hasn't existed since the peak of NXT.

This shouldn't in any way detract from the awful allegations against Vince McMahon. The victims of his behaviour deserve to be heard and hopefully, they will get the justice they deserve. But for the WWE as a company, having Vince step aside might be one of the best things that has happened in a long time. Even fiscally, as their stock shot up within a day of The Game taking creative control.

For too long, the WWE format has been stale. Creativity had been sacrificed for content and too many people have been spinning their wheels. The product needs a reboot, and with SummerSlam 2022 now in the record books, it gave the King of Kings the perfect opportunity to begin tweaking things to steer a once shaky ship into calmer waters.

Remember, Rome wasn't built in a day and those who expect Triple H to copy and paste the NXT blueprint onto the main roster may well find themselves disappointed. Yet, there are a few things Mr Levesque could do pretty quickly to freshen up a program that has long since hit its creative nadir, and stamp his authority upon it.

10. Move On From Vince McMahon

First thing's first, it's time to put down the elephant in the room.

The only way for this to feel like a new era for the WWE, is for them to move on from Vince McMahon as quickly as possible. This writer isn't asking for a 'WCW New Blood reboot' scenario. Far from it. Creatively, things will take time to move in a new, refreshing direction and anyone who expected Johnny Gargano to slide into the main event of SummerSlam and beat both Reigns and Lesnar is kidding themselves.

But Vince McMahon needs to be left in the past.

Stephanie McMahon has already been to the ring and led the tributes to her father, and the WWE Universe has already showered him with their thanks. That has to be the end of it. No more tributes or rah-rah speeches that threaten to undermine the seriousness of the allegations against him.

As crowd popping as it was on Monday Night Raw, the snide comments alluding to Vince's departure can also stop. Yes, Reigns got a loud cheer when he told Theory that 'daddy isn't here anymore'. But the only way to truly move the WWE juggarnaut in a new direction is to leave Vince where he belongs.

In the past.
