10 WWE Wrestlers Vince McMahon Loves (But The Internet Hates)

Baron Corbin, Nia Jax, and other unpopular Vince McMahon favourites...

When wrestlers move on from NXT to the dizzying heights of RAW and SmackDown, it's said they have to work in front of a much larger audience, but nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, the only audience performers have to worry about is an audience of one: specifically Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

It doesn't matter how much talent you have in the ring or how over you get with the fans; only what McMahon thinks. If you need proof of that then, firstly, welcome to wrestling. Secondly, we live in a world where Nia Jax just keeps potato-ing her opponents yet it's the honestly quite incredible Keith Lee who was recently sent back to the Performance Centre to work on his skills.

Just as there are plenty of wrestlers the internet has fallen in love with that Vince has criminally underused, the Venn diagram of those the web wants to cancel completely crosses over more than a few times with those that McMahon has chosen to lead the charge into the future.

You might detest these wrestlers with every fibre of your being, but they make Vince giddy...

10. Hulk Hogan

Ask anyone in the world who isn't a wrestling fan to name a wrestler and they're almost certain to say Hulk Hogan. That's how big Hogan managed to get in the '80s. His rise to the top of the business came at the same time as the business became mainstream entertainment, and the two simply cannot be separated.

It's for this reason that, despite their personal differences and open animosity towards each other, that Vince McMahon will forgive Hogan all his trespasses and keep bringing him back for yet another payday and another cheap bump to the ratings by appealing to nostalgia.

All of this, of course, comes at the expense of the up and coming stars of the future. Even if Hogan will never be booked against them, he's taking their spot on the card. And that suits him just fine. Holding down those who could conceivably rise to the same heights as him is something that Terry Bollea is no stranger to, after all. It's one of the reasons that even those who recognise his contributions to the business despise the way the Real American handled himself backstage.

But what ya gonna do?
