11 HUGE WWE SummerSlam 2019 Predictions You Need To Know
Roman Reigns > Seth Rollins.
As of writing, there are 10 matches on the SummerSlam card, and though it's almost certain that number will increase before Sunday's first bell, it speaks to how successful WWE have been with such a short promotional turnaround between the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer' and July's surprisingly solid Extreme Rules show.
The clashes have all been serviced with just enough story, and with one notable and incredibly high profile exception, all of them have been broadly rewarding and peaked at the right time.
The once-violent otherwise-infuriating exception isn't the first rule Seth Rollins has proved this year. 'The Architect' has justified Vince McMahon's penchant for pulverising monsters over lithe, technical wizards, despite trying his hardest to impress him with ludicrous platitudes about the organisation and a certain recent escapee. WrestleMania was in April, but it feels about six f*cking lifetimes ago ahead of a repeat performance of that event's powerful opener.
Seth's just one of several potential candidates for going on last this year, but he can feature first in this ahead of a number of extremely intriguing pairings. And, one almighty storyline loose end that could get the most spectacular of payoffs...
11. Brock Lesnar Vs. Seth Rollins
Brock Lesnar and Seth Rollins were the perfect choices to open the 'Show Of Shows' in 2019, not least because the women's division had by far the most over angle in the company and the headline spot to justify it.
A short sharp shock of a match that again saw 'The Architect' yet again get the better of 'The Beast', it was the perfect way to open up the show and will likely be the polar opposite of what the pair are tasked with at the 'Biggest Party Of The Summer'.
Surely set to go on last and attempt to present a competitive encounter despite the bruising beatings Brock's dished out to Seth since reclaiming his Universal Title, the two will have to at long last assemble a singles banger that might serve as Seth's actual elevation. At least he probably can't sink much lower in the quicksand he's threw himself into a few months ago. The only way is up for the former Shield man (and former popular wrestler), and it might as well start here.
Winner: Seth Rollins
