12 WWE Matches We Must See In The Next 12 Months

More dream matches, please!

By Scott Fried /

In two weeks, WWE will deliver one of the most anticipated bouts of the past few years - the long-awaited Shield Triple Threat match. Ever since the group splintered, fans have wanted to see Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose in an every-man-for-himself situation, and now, it's finally going to happen. Expect to be impressed.

This won't be the first major match WWE's delivered this year. Last month at Money in the Bank, John Cena and AJ Styles went one-on-one in a great contest, and while the whole "15 years of buildup" thing the company tried to push was an exaggeration, it was still surreal to see the match happen.

As many great matches as the company has delivered, though, there are more to be seen. Some of the stars of NXT will be coming up to the main roster within the next year, meaning that many new and exciting combinations of bouts will be available. There's also one particular dream match that's been held off too long, and the time is right to finally deliver.

If the company plays its cards right, they can promote several classics in the near future. Here are 12 WWE matches we must see in the next 12 months:

12. Oney Lorcan Vs. Cesaro

Oney Lorcan has only recently made his NXT debut, and given that the brand will be undergoing some major changes, it's likely that he'll be needed there. After all, heavyweight stars on the developmental territory's roster are very valuable. Still, if he does come up to the main roster soon (and he certainly has the talent to do so), he needs to have a match with Cesaro.

Lorcan's style is reminiscent of that of Daniel Bryan, meaning that he's a gifted technical star who also manages to incorporate hard strikes and physicality into his repertoire. That means he would make a great opponent for Cesaro, who also hits hard and accurately while maintaining a scientific style.

Both men are tough, no-nonsense competitors who wouldn't hesitate to do whatever it took to pick up the eventual victory. After a hearty fight filled with tight holds and elbow strikes, whichever man emerged the winner would have truly earned it.
