13 Classic Matches That Should Have Happened At WrestleMania

These matches should and could have happened at WrestleMania, but didn't.

Every year during WrestleMania season, fans take to the internet to speculate on which matches will make the final card for WWE€™s biggest event. More often than not, people are able to read between the lines and guess a handful of high profile contests, but sometimes, a few logical ideas never came to fruition for various reasons. As recently as two weeks ago, rumours swirled that Daniel Bryan and Sheamus would meet one-on-one in San Francisco. Last year, fans threw around the main event of The Rock vs. Brock Lesnar to headline WrestleMania 30. Heading into WrestleMania 29, all anyone would talk about was the possibility of CM Punk vs. €œStone Cold€ Steve Austin. And yet, none of that happened. Over the last 30 years, several big matches should justifiably have happened at WrestleMania, but for circumstances unknown they never made it to the bill. In some cases the two competitors met prior to €˜Mania; in others, the WWE brass just didn€™t see the value in a particular match. And in others still, matches were booked that were subsequently dropped because of injury or other changes. Either way, fans were deprived of witnessing potential dream matches in the perfect setting. While fans inevitably like to think up €œDream Match€ scenarios that are impossible to book, these are the few that could have actually happened had it not been for a wrench or two thrown into the equation.
