Certain storylines take a backseat as the MashUp Tournament takes over Impact Wrestling.

This was the second episode of Impact Wrestling following the excellent Slammiversary pay-per-view event earlier on in July, and like with last week's episode, nothing too important happened.

The entire episode (bar the knockouts' three way match) was dedicated to the MashUp Tournament, an eight-team bracket with arch-rivals being forced to team, and the winners then advancing to a singles match against one another to determine the next challenger for Brian Cage's World Championship. It's a lot to understand at first glance.

In terms of furthering stories, only one was really put at the forefront, that being Sami Callihan vs. Tessa Blanchard. They were one of the teams grouped for the tournament, and would have to work together if they had any hope of earning a title match for themselves. The others didn't have anything positive featured in them, preferring to instead completely forget about the rivalries they're attached to. Seriously, why were Moose and Eddie Edwards playing happy families once again after all that's happened between them in the last number of months?

At least this week's episode had more than one match though. Let's get to it...
